Hi,
I’m Demi, a designer from Utrecht with a background in graphic design, commercial economics, and digital art. Creativity has always been my foundation, evolving from childhood sketches into a multidisciplinary skillset that bridges design, strategy, and technology.
I believe the strongest work lives at the intersection of creativity and functionality: visuals that inspire while also serving a clear purpose. My experience ranges from developing brand identities, layouts, and campaigns to digital illustration, AI-driven design, and UX/UI prototyping. Thanks to my background in commercial economics, I approach design not only as an art form but also as a strategic tool for branding and communication.
I’m driven by curiosity and impact. Whether I’m working on visual storytelling, building digital experiences, or creating campaigns around sustainability, diversity, or public health, my goal is always the same: to make design both meaningful and effective.
Beyond work, I draw inspiration from culture and exploration, painting, music, snowboarding, rugby, and travel continuously shape how I see and create. Looking ahead, I want to keep growing as a designer while pursuing projects that drive positive social change. My long-term ambition is to build a studio where design, technology, and art converge to inspire and connect people.
Skills & Approach
My work lives at the crossroads of creativity, strategy, and technology. I’m fluent in the Adobe Creative Suite, from Illustrator and InDesign to Lightroom and Photoshop, which allows me to move seamlessly between photo editing, illustration, creation and layout. Tools like Procreate and Nomad Sculpt give me the space to experiment with digital art and 3D design, while Figma and webcoding technologies like HTML, CSS, and WordPress enable me to transform ideas into interactive experiences.

But design for me is never just about aesthetics. My background in branding and commercial economics helps me approach projects strategically, from developing visual identities and campaigns to positioning brands and aligning design with business goals. I’ve worked across digital communication, content strategy, and marketing, always with the aim of creating visuals that tell a clear story and drive impact.
I also embrace innovation. With experience in AI tools such as Adobe Firefly, MidJourney, DALL·E, and ChatGPT, I enjoy exploring how technology can expand creativity and make complex ideas more accessible. Alongside this, I use data visualization, analysis, and project management to ensure that design decisions are grounded in insight as well as intuition.
At the core, my soft skills are what tie everything together; creativity, critical thinking, and learning agility help me adapt quickly. Whereas collaboration, communication, and leadership ensure I can bring out the best in both my work and the teams I’m part of.
This was a quick overview of how I work. For a more detailed breakdown of my tools and skills, check the page below.
During the final year of my bachelor's degree, I did an Internship at TD, a creative agency in Amsterdam with a big legacy. At the end of that first half-year, I created a website about my projects, inspiration, and personal development, and completed the course with flying colours. To graduate that year, I needed to write a thesis and do a second internship. Lucky for me, I had a good relationship with my supervisor from before, and I had a lot of Ideas and observations about the company. More than enough to write a comprehensive thesis about it. And so I did. A lot of research, many internal and external qualitative interviews, data analysis, themecoding, and writing hours went into it, but I ended up with a well-thought-out content strategy, a fun and captivating pitch, great feedback, and an overall good-looking document. If you're interested in seeing this thesis, don't hesitate to send me a message or text via my contact page.
